Perhaps to someone who's done it before and/or does it for a living, though I assume nothing when it comes to dispensing or receiving advice on the forum. ;)

      My E30 search continues!

I really wasn't prepared for how difficult it can be to source one of these. But I guess at this price point it is a mixed bag when it comes to the people selling them. Anyways thanks Torston for the link to the car in Prince George. You have to wonder why is it so cheap?!? they should be able to get 3 times that easily from what i've seen so far. Here is my current list of cars to mull over, if any one has any advice or just their opinion i'd love to hear it!

A four door with a manual is the ideal setup for me, but this has had an engine swap which I am not sure about. Other then coilovers he says it's stock & rust free.

A vert with a hardtop in pretty good shape.

This is the "why so cheap?" one:

It looks like some money has been spent on this one and might be the best condition of the bunch, at least I hope so for $12K

This one needs some body work, and a third pedal, but looks maintained.

Same guy is selling this one and the one above, this is his car and the other one is his sister he says. I thought it had sold but it fell through so it's still here.

Did you end up buying the first choice on your list? Wondering because it's already unavailable.

No i did not. I've been scared away from taking someones project car and making it my daily. I think i'm going to try and find one as stock as possible. But it looks like his ad is still up:

I've been talking with the owner of a pretty clean 320I. Any advice on a 320i? I don't know much about it, engine sounds slower without gaining better mileage which isn't wonderful, it's an auto which is also not wonderful, but it is a 4 door and it looks very clean with low km's:

            It's slow but....

            -Well-off owner's summer car.
            -Documented maintenance (not cheap)
            -Cosmoline still on valve cover
            -Not hooned

That sure checks a lot of boxes.

              Super low miles.

It's odd seeing the battery up front and not a Cabrio.

Lol you listened to some noob call it a project car. For all you know that dude was a master mechanic who swapped it. The m52 is a great motor and a great swap into e30s. You should be more inquisitive and not take advice at face value.

As for your "why so cheap" car maybe the guy doesn't know what he has? Maybe he wants a quick sale? Maybe it's because it's an early model with diving boards? Maybe because it's bronzit and needs a respray? Who knows. Ask questions.

You shouldn't feel more comfortable paying more money (E30 tax) assuming "just because it's more expensive it must be in better condition."

Need help deciding on 2 cars.

I have the one above, low miles with all maintenance done (timing belt, brakes, ac charge, water pump) in the last 5,000. But it's a auto and a 320i.

The other is a 325i manual with a lsd, about 40,000 miles more, but has been sitting for 5 years mostly, unclear on maintenance but I'm trying to find out, no A/c, and I'd have to drive it 12 hours to get it home.

First in line on both but have to decide soon, both are in equally good shape (exterior, interior) both are the same price.

Wait until fall. I find guys tend to list stuff before winter because they don't want to pay for storage.
