I really appreciate everyones advice thank you!
I think i'm going to have to pass, I feel i'm too green to know if i'm buying quality or not.

Have you looked at it in person? Without seeing it, no one can answer that better than you and your instinct.
Be patient and travel if you have to. When I was in Alberta all my cars came from Vancouver, right now there are 2 or 3 that look pretty good and original, for about the same money.
Get a PPI from CG or Nixon, fly out and bond with it on the drive home.Leave a comment:

Gonna agree with Blau on this one.
In my experience (with E30's, E36's, and Jeep XJ's), it is always nicer and better in the long run to get an unmodified version, and then tailor it to your desires.Leave a comment:

Personally, I wouldn't. Would rather find a clean stock 325 as I'd rather not pick up someone else's project.Leave a comment:

Would you buy it?
Hey guys - I'm looking to buy my first E30 and having a hell of a time sourcing a decent car in Canada. Most of the time it is rust, along with mods gone bad. It is proving to be much more difficult then I expected.
Anyways to the point, I found an E30 for sale in my area that has been heavily modified and my question to people who know this car, is this worth considering.
First the body looks clean (no rust), but here are the details:
1988 325iS chassis with about 199***km on it.
The engine is a m52 with roughly 99***km on it.
M50 intake and s52 cams.
ZF transmission,
4.10 LSD.
E36 rack with new tie rod in and out.
Mk3 front lip,
new front breaks,
new carrier bearing.
New thermostat
Has an aftermarket hub, quick release and wheel.
Crack less dash, full interior.
Struts and lowering springs,
1in wheel spacers. Ronald LS wheels.
Custom exhaust, wrapped headers.
Heated and power options.
