Score at the swap meet today!

Went out to the yearly swap meet at the fairgrounds today with my father and brother in law, which is mostly automotive stuff, but antiques and junk, too. Well, I got the score of the year while I was there, a 3.5 hp 25 gallon Craftsman air compressor for $20! I was so stoked. It's about a $150 compressor new, and I got it for $20. No more doing suspension work with hand tools!

Yeah, maybe if you buy them new.

That's what garage sales, estate sales, and pawn shops are for.

Husky air tools are great, for the dough.

I have what probably amounts to the new version of that compressor. I really have no idea how anyone gets ANY work done without air tools. It's like working in the stone age.

Stolen? A bunch of my stuff that was stolen out of my storage locker ended up in a swap meet. Seems like they are a breeding ground for meth heads to unload other people's stuff.

yeah - but pneumatics are generally cheaper than their electronic equivalents.

I built my own compressor. Its worth like over a grand, but I bought all the parts used for cheap. Quincy pump, generic air tank, and a GE motor. Runs for life. Pump is pressure lubricated.

That's awesome. I'm still stoked as hell that I got this thing, I've been wanting one more than anything, but I just haven't had the cash to pick one up. What's even better is that this is exactly the one that I wanted.

Doing a crank bolt on my friends integra, he wasn't strong enough so he let me try.

We were using the tire iron off his 67 mustang (perfect fit) and I ended up bending the tire iron pretty badly. He said "If you can bend that solid iron thing from back in the 60's (when they still made things solid) then theres no way we can do this by hand."
Went to lowe's bought a compressor that barely fit in my backseat, and then 2 months later he moved away and gave it to me :P

When your buying your air tools, go with ingersol. best tools out there and they will last you for life. I work at Genie on the assembly line, and all we use is ingersol tools.
