BMW Unveils First Production Hydrogen Car

I was surprised about this news. I wish they gave more technical info on how it works, but it's pretty cool.

Interesting, but questionable. BMW is overpricing a lot of their current production cars and this just sounds like another one of them.

The performance numbers are horribly low and I'd like to see how they would manage to keep the supply of hydrogen coming along. Assuming there's a handful in every major city worldwide, they'd basically have to refill at dealerships.

But who knows..... it's a step on a different direction. We'll see how that turns out.

I think it's a good step in the right direction. The first gasoline-powered cars sucked too. Hopefully they can keep making improvements on them to make them perform better.

You're probably right though--if you refill at the dealership, it'll give them one more reason to charge you an arm and a leg. :p

But then again, if BMW can own a lot of the infastructure for hydrogen at the beginning, it could make them a lot of money in the future.

Huh. I didn't put the code myself; I was too lazy. The editor must have added another "http:" that I didn't notice. My bad!

Its a targeted lease vehicle. Most likely will be used in limited situations by corporations seeking to lower their CO output per the EUs new standard of making you buy stamps for pollution.

It will be a shuttle with refueling responsiblity with the company until hydrogen hits big (if it ever does).
