If you knew how expensive doing anything performance related to your car is, you'd understand the whole rice factor in Europe. Insurance there changes radically as the car adds up horsepower, so therefore these guys end up doing bodywork instead.

The center of American car culture has been and still is California. A place where they have outlawed individual expression in the historic sense with smog and safety rules - even "illegal suspension" laws. Ironic that Citroen and Lincoln had the same "hopper" cars using airbags instead of aircraft landing gear hydraulics. What you're looking at is the future as far as the street goes.
