Miata is the obvious answer. What a great car.
You could buy a E36 with that kind of money also.
Not much else to choose from when it has to be rwd, aside from the obvious Mustang/Camaro choices, and I wouldn't call them 'small'.

You couild find a really nice E30 if you felt like traveling a little for 6k...

but the other choice would deff. be a miata...I dont really care for 240s.

240's are ok. They have a NA 2.4 KA24DE in em which is the same motor they put in the lil hardbody trucks. MR2 would be kinda cool or maybe an older 300zx.

An e30 would be the best choice imo, you could find one if you keep lookin. older z cars are pretty cool also, but only a 300 turbo or 240z are worth the time. My buddy is selling a 73 240 so pm me if you are interested.

get an e34 89-95 535is...power, style, and like the e30 its pretty much built proof as long as its maintained nicely ok its not that small but still a good buy...or just buy an e30 and put a different motor in it

The miata is easily turbo'd and fun as hell to drive, but seriously, its gotta be one of the girliest cars around. The new ones are ok, but what youd find for 6k will not impress. Id find a real nice condition 325is. For 6k you should be able to find a car in great condition.

you can find a 89+ 325is easily for 6,000. Make a roadtrip to california because there you will be able to find a rust e30 probably in great shape.

If I didnt need the convenience of a rear seat, I would drive a miata.
