    I got engine problems...I think

Last night I was messing around driving beside my buddy's Corrado kind of riding next to him then dropping it down a cog and pulling away, stupid shit on a boring friday night. But anyway I started to pull away in second gear at one point and when I got to about 5 grand it was like my car hit the rev limiter, I was thrown forward a bit in my seat and could hear a weak pooof from the exhaust, like it was going to backfire but without the bang.

I had some thoughts to what it might be:
    -bad injectors
-clogged exhaust (my cat's getting real rusty on the outside i can imagine what it's like inside)
    -some sort of afm problem

Anybody have a clue to what it may be? Is the engine on it's last leg ? Any ideals are appreciated.

No deffinately not a broken rocker arm, the car is still driveing fine, and I only feel it happen at high rpms. I had seen that sometimes rocker arms can float over time in m20 race engines could this be what is happening?

word... where do you go in clear spring man? I live 3 miles from downtown(yea how huge clear spring is!). There is a nice straight right out of town where I run my chevy to "tune" it. Whats the name of the road? I'll check it out when I get a chance.
