    Window Trim - Any advice...

    or recomendations on R&I (remove & install) of the windshield & back glass trim? Looking to replace mine.

        So which trim? That of the body or actually on the door?

        I found 1500 grit wet or dry sandpaper does a terrific job of refinishing.

              That's the best piece of advice.

              For the rain gutter piece that is attached to the body, start at the front and work your way back.

                      ok ok, I think I finally am understanding your original question! lol...

                      the old window trim you can just pull out. Remove the "cap" in the center first. The new trim should just snap right in.

                              Yes. It's a huge PITA to install the new chrome pieces. Honestly, if you're not highly competent with weird tools, you'll be better off to pay a glass installer to install it for you. Call around and get some prices from your local shops.

                              If they try to jack you up, I'll give you some tool part numbers so you can try it yourself.

                              By the time you buy the tools, scratch your paint, poke a hole or two in your hands, and scratch the new chrome, you'll wish you had paid someone to do it. I'm only half kidding. It's really a matter of how talented you are.
