She is a 1987 325is with about 20K on a rebuilt motor and gearbox. One of the techs at Bullet Perfpormance in Costa Mesa owned her for nine years and performed the rebuild and all mods/maintenance (obviously).

This car isn’t really what I was looking for in an E30. I wanted something completely stock – something I could use to learn how to drive with and incrementally improve the suspension and drivetrain as my skill increased. I’m not a fan of the boy-racer look, but the fact that the car was owned and maintained by a BMW Master Technician swayed me. Not just any tech, mind you; I’ve had an excellent relationship with the guys at Bullet and have a great deal of respect for their abilities and trust in their character. Travis has done an excellent job with the car.

She runs like a top and is thee absolute most fun car I have ever driven. All of the E36s’ I’ve driven were sluggish in comparison. This is the car I should have bought years ago.

                Here’s what I got for $5150:
                Jim Conforti chip
                Lightened aluminum flywheel – 14#
                New clutch
                4.10 dif
                E36 SSK
                Sparco STB
                Bilsteins front shocks
                Koni rear shocks
                H&R Springs
                Racing Dynamics sways - 22mm front / 19mm rear
                M3 camber bushings
                Dinan 3degree camber plates
                SS brake lines
                Drilled rotors
                Porterfield R45 pads
                BMP Designs body kit
                BMW M-tech spoiler
                Momo wheel
                Sparco shifter knob
                M3 (E36 style) mirrors
                E30 M3 interior (+ rear view mirror)
Alpine XM ready CD player with associated XM stuff
                Schroth harness
TSW Hockenheims 7.5 x 16 (for sale – make me an offer)

The new rims are Rota Slipstreams 8 x 16 et25 with Kumho Ecsta SPT 205/50/16.

                Praise the Lord

You forgot to list shadowline in your mod list, that really sets this car of IMO. Great find.

Thanks again, guys - she is a lot of fun to drive. I took her to Buttonwillow for the NASA HPDE - it was a real eye opener. As a n00b I was pretty fast in my wagon at Willow Springs, but as a n00b in the E30 I absolutely sucked. I think I got freaked out by the spin-out earlier in the week.

I've seen pics of r3v member's rides and I would love to own a lot of them. I've had E30s as wallpaper on my work machine for years. It's funny how the 'grass is greener on the other side' :D Also, it seems that you guys know your stuff, enjoy your cars and drive them like they are meant to be driven - that is some thing to be very proud of.

Welcome first and foremost. Most of us all had similar experiences the first time we got behind the wheel of their first e30. Hell Im on my third and the feeling still hasnt stopped!

From the looks of it you got a good deal on your e30 and its current modifications. I personally wouldve kept the TSW's, but the rotas are a solid wheel. Hang out, check the place out, Im sure youll enjoy your stay.

Thanks dude, your warm welcome is appreciated :) Good to know my E30 induced euphoria is fleeting. I can see mysef keeping this car for a long while.

I rode shotgun in an E30 M3 J Stock car for one session - that by far was the highlight of the last few years.

I love you car BTW. Very classy.

Just to let you guys know, I sold the wagon last week. When I bought the E30, my wife was going to start driving the wagon and we were going to sell her car. We weren't able to sell hers (without taking a massive hit, that is), so it was the wagon that we had let go...

Wow that engine bay is wonderfully clean, I love it.

That bumper swap / body styling works really well and looks great. The only thing that I would do (which has already been mentioned) is to get some black body and/or bumper trim in order to introduce some contrast. There is quite a bit of red as it stands.

You got a DEAL on that car man.

Thanks, man! I photoshoped black rub strips on the car, and it does look cool, so prolly sometime in the near future I'll get that taken care of :D
