anyone suggest a low compression 3.0L stroker and a turbo, or is that a bad idea?

2.8 + turbo is enough. TD crank + 85mm custom pistons make a lot more sense than the longer strokers. The eta crank throw is just right before getting too hairy (overly expensive)
3.0L are really just for the INSANE who want gobs of torque and NA power. Like Ted, he's crazy. And Chris. .... Both are nuts. :twisted:
Why isn't there a video of Matt and Ted side by side??? That would be cool. 3.0L NA vs. 2.8T. 8) Even just a cruise vid would be sweet.

Hollld up.
You can NOT use the euro crankshaft in an M20. The euro S50's use 90mm mains, and the 91.0mm stroke crank will not fit the M20.
eta = 81mm stroke
diesel turbo = 81mm stroke*
'i' = 75mm stroke
M50 = 75mm stroke
S50 (US) = 85.8mm*
S52= 89.6mm*
M52= 84mm*
* = Forged
Stock bore is 84mm, you can take them to 85mm.

Well, I am definitely one of the crazy ones, but I'm just not sure if I want to do a 2.8L and turbo or an S50 and turbo. I'm sure the S50 and turbo would yield more power and more money. Which engine could handle the turbo better? Which would get the better fuel mileage. I want around 300rwhp if that helps any.

3.0L stroker + Turbo should be insane!! and for is not overdone, it's normal! I'm of those crazy guys too.
M20 2.5L with turbo , can put arround 290 -300 RWHP at 15-16 PSI I think...but beware with the stock internals, can suffer at anytime. My goal is put 15 PSI with stcok internals.(soon)
The turbo M20 is has good MPG if you don't go all the time "full pedal" of corse, I noticed the same MPG in the city as when it was stcok and N.A., even when now I'm using bigger injectors.Euro M3'87 NogaroSilver/Euro E34 M5 '93/Porsche 993 TT 97' Euro/Porsche 993 Carrera 95' Euro/Skyline R33 GT-R
