I had a guy in a riced out 4 door E36 318i stop and ask me questions once.. and an old man told me that he liked these cars, but that's about it. I do get some stares though, but with the bottlecaps on my car it falls way under the radar (I got tons of attention with the Hocks).. Cops don't notice me even when I'm speeding. :D

The only time I've been stopped was at a gas station by some crazy hippie that drove a beat to hell molester van. He complemented me on my car and told me "keep it rubber side down".

No one has ever really looked at my shiny red 4 door 325. HOWEVER, I was sitting in teh car one day in a parking lot when someone driving a 2002 325ix pulled up, parked, and started talking to me about the car. I'm guessing he woulda given me a ride in my car if my friend's hadn't pulled up. It's like he was scared off or somethin. I never got a chance to tell him to go these forums... :x

Other than that, nothing. I don't see many BMW drivers around here that know what they're driving. Many of them are females or someone driving an E30 that has no idea how significant it is (tehrefore, most of the time, its trashed... )

Hopefully when I get my 88 on the road, and plastic bumpers, I'll get some attention. :P

i've never had anyone stop and talk to me about my car, but I always speed up if a see a e30, most of the time it's old people, sometimes it will be a younger kid but usually not taken care of. I also do the "wave" when i see others at stop lights and such. I wish the e30 community was HUGE. That would be a great feeling everytime you drive.

I waved at this teenage chick driving a genuine M-Technic White BMW - she looked at me and laughed. I'm like, damn, you're dumb...

Sometimes I don't bother to wave at people unless I make eye contact with them and I see them looking at my car. I once waved at the owner of a Z3, and he waved back. THat was cool. Lots of times, people in other BMW's rarely notice mine... :x

Yeah I know what its like. Today I say 2 E30 M3's in my town  Thats a record for me, seeing as all the e30's in my town are beat to hell. But both drivers were older guys, and I didn't have a chance to tell them about baye30 and r3v. Maybe next time.

Not questions, just compliments..... usually once every 2 weeks someone pulls over and makes a compliment. The best one was a guy who offered to buy the car along with his compliment.

                      But nah guy....... :P

I've gotten the "what body kit is that?" question, and at the BMW dealer no less. (I think most e30 M3 owners have gotten this one at least once)

Shockingly, a worker at AutoZone complimented me on how I've taken such good care of my car and how rare the older M3s are these days.

Almost every time I go to the BMW dealer, one of the salesmen comes over and asks me about it.

I get alot of compliments/questions from the import crowd also.

In my home town everyone is too rich to notice a 15 year old BMW. Seeing Turbo's, Ferrari's, and e46 m3 are very very common. I've only seen 1 e30 m3, and he and i both drove with each other for awhile reving out our cars a bit, that was real cool.

There are no E30's in Maryland. So when I see one slightly modded, I'm after them. I met a really really ugly fat persian driving a '89 4 door, and just asked him what suspension he was running. Didn't even want to tell him about R3V, the car was a bit ricey.

All the E30's at my school (3 now!) are sad and beat. Left a flyer on each one, but to no avail....

I saw a black e30 almost exactly like mine pulling into a parking lot as i left the other day, we both waved at each other and gave the thumbs up.

                                and/or

then i usually end the conversation with
