Last time I went to Colorado we followed this guy in an Audi Allroad with euro plates front and rear at about 90-100 the whole way across western kansas. I talked to him when we both stoped to get gas and it turns out he was from Germany and had his car shipped over here to drive across the US.
I could tell he was realy from germany by the way he was driving. He stayed in the right lane 100% of the time when he was not passing someone.
there were a couple of times that people were driving in the left lane and he was in the right going faster, he pulled behind them into the left lane, started flashing his lights and laid on his horn, when they pulled over franticly he would pass them and pull back into the right lane right in front of them. it was fucking priceless.

All we get here (Oregon) is a fix-it ticket. I got one about 2 months ago for my euro plate. I put my state plate back on and went to court, the judge sent the bailiff out with me to verify that I'd put it back on, and they told me that I was free to go. There was a kid in there that was in for his second ticket on a euro plate, and they did the same thing. Since it's just a fix-it ticket, there's no fine invloved if you rectify the problem, and I put it back on the next day. A friend of mine who's a cop told me that all they'll do is just keep issuing fix-it tickets, and he said that's IF I get pulled over for it again. He said that most cops don't even look, and most don't care.

Nice. :) I almost always carry the front plate in the back of the car. If a police officer pulls me over, I tell them that the front plate is in the hatch/trunk, but I lost one screw so it was hanging off. I tell them I'm going to get a new screw right now, and I'll have it on later.:giggle:

4 times pulled over, never once ticketed.

SORRY if i'm not a good speller

I've only got pulled over in mine one time, he was racial profiling me, he could not see in the car cause of the tint. The look on his face was priceless when he looked in the car and seen four back woods hillbillys. He never said anything about my front plate only the tint. Asked me how i was getting away with it in PA, he told me it was illegal in his state Maryland, but i don't live in his state so he could not do anything about it.

Several years ago I was in parking lot, and noticed two younger guys looking my way and talking to one another. Then they started walking toward my car. I thought, they're wanting to start some trouble. When they moved closer to my car I got out. The guys said they were looking at my license plate and thought it was cool. They asked if I had brought the car from Germany. I told them I just had the plate custom made. If I had thought more I would have said yes, since the car was imported from Germany. I've had more comments about the euro plate than anything else on my car.
