That being said, your valve cover looks awesome. Golf, there's many different brands of krinkle-finish paint you can use, they all come out looking the same.
i think thats the only thing ive ever heard you say to me that was completely positive, Thank you.

oh, and i forgot all about that no aerosol can thing with airplanes...
    good call.

Are you sure you're thinking of the right person? I don't recall ever giving you a hard time about anything.

Well, I would have, had I not burned through a couple of the radiuses near the fog light areas of my front valence while wetsanding the new paint we sprayed. I'm having the valence and bumpers resprayed in a couple of weeks, I'll get pics then.

Check the link in my sig for details.

              Looks just like mine!

I used the same Harley paint to paint my valve cover and intake manifold a year or two ago. I think it looks great.

How do you control the texture of the HD paint's final resolution? if thats understandable....like i sprayed my valve cover and the wrinkles came out really wrinkly and large, and not anything like what it looks like on the hd bike's motor/parts. i baked the fucker too, using 2 1000w work lamps, and a foil lined carboard box with a hole for the lamps and let it sit till the oil on the underside started hotboxing my box. ithelped the tecture size a little, but it still was large and wrinkly. my freind did his valve cover with some vht wrinkle and it came out like yours.

well as to the texture size, this paint is different from the Wrinkle paint, i thought it was at first.. but it isnt..

its actually different and is a "Texture" finish... almost like tiny particles of sand are in it.. rather than a chemical wrinkling effect..

The paint has held up great. The only signs of wear are on the manifold where the hood liner rubbs on the manifold.

There's an easy wy to fix that, I got rid of that god-awful looking thing on my first bronzit E30 (R.I.P.), and installed a set of BMP Design hi-temp hood pads. They're thick foam panels that have reflective foil on the exposed side. They looked tittes with the hood up, and seriously did reduce engine temperature. I'm getting another set this winter while I'm overhauling the E30.

(excuse the blue throttle body lever, it was like that when I bought the engine)
