Yeah, from personal experience, it doesn't protect the point of hte pan that is most vulnerable.

Thanks for feedback blunt. It's good to hear some input on how tough they are.

    .
Those r some funky skid pates.

The ones we got here in South Africa, are solid, and they mount up inside the wheel wells, and on the subframe... with only a hole for the sump plug , can't snap pics as the car is at the body shop.

I had a friend that did JB Weld and it worked.

    Ditto on the JB Weld.

I did the same to my 325 ES a few years back.

Didn't look that bad, and wasn't leaking, but the next morning, a huge puddle in the driveway.

Clean it up, sand it down, JB Weld it.

By the way guys, got it all fixed last night. New oil pan and gasket and went ahead and installed the 666 skidplate too.

If you actually read this thread you'd know the 666 Fabrication plate is not 1/8" thick.

Sorry, I was reffering to the skip plates... $200 for an oil pan would be kinda high!

Niether of them are, trust me. I have both. They'll do fine.

They should be able to take a beating, but when it comes down to it they need to save the oil pan, the skidplate can die if it must.

It's priced at $219, like someone mentioned, but the parts guy I talked to said the computer shows the skid plate doesn't work on the cabrios. Does anyone here have the OEM skidplate on a cab? I'd really like to get one, but I don't want to buy it and have it not work.
