    Different window regulators/attachment to glass?

Someone was nice enough to smash my pass side window and steal my cd player.

i have a 90 325is. the window i got from the junkyard was supposed to be from an 89 325 2 door. Should be the same right?

The brackets on the window, where it would attach with the regulator, are different.

(obv there's no window for me to reference) but it looks like they would be mounted more towards the inside of the window (away from the edges), wheres the new windows have the mounts on the end

also, the old ones-the rollers on the regulator are on the inside and the glass goes on the outside, and vice versa.

and they seem to have different ways to attach to the regulators, the old one uses rivets and the new one has threads for screws

i know the cabrio has them riveted, but i didnt know what others were like

basically i'm just asking what year/model has my type of regulator

some of them are different. I don't know what years have different glass, but I know early glass doesn't work in late cars.

i know there is 2 different styles of mechanisims for lifting the window. early and a late. afaik the glass itself is the same.

the glass itself is the same, but the attachments on the glass (where it connects to the regulator) must be different. And it's not easily switchable

According to Real OEM the cut off for the regulator was 3/88

If you pulled the regulator/window out of an '89 and you have a '90 it logically should work.

Were you told it was from an '89 or did you pull it yourself?
