Yeah, on instinct my hand darts for the shifter as quickly as my foot reaches for the brake.

check your engine mounts. My car would rock back and forth when i let out the clutch on every shift. Replaced the mounts and the shifting is much better

lol I've locked my brakes up while heel toeing. Guy pulls right out in front of me. I drop anchor and rev-match just from instinct, even though all four tires are locking up and the back is starting to turn round.

I was only traveling ~25mph. I was in what Bend calls "traffic circles". In icy conditions I use "cadence braking" all the time. Generally threshold braking works best on dry pavement.

In an e30 I think most people are side-flipping rathet than heel-toe-ing.
