25,000 pounds for a 173hp car that is only 88lbs lighter than a standard e90...boring.

            Indeed.

It looks like the modern version of the e30 318is. Big car with an underpowered 4 banger.

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

                Ja, Touurbo baby!

When I finish the body work on my '81 Euro 635CSi it's definitely going turbo. Big BBS RKs, 8 series brakes, and a 3.4 liter turbo. Turbos make big cars feel small :)

haha i was just thinking about how slow this "uber-cool" 320si must be. our e30's have 170hp and are about 2700lbs, the 320si is 3135lbs and look how poorly its 173hp stacks up against other "high technology" cars. What was up with BMW deciding not to use VANOS on this one? VTEC destroys the numbers bmw can make without VANOS.

great, but your comparison there is comparing a 1986 BMW to 2006 Hondas
there is a 20 year gap there
but yeah, that car seems a bit dumb.

yeah. its a good concept that should have been implemented better.

Oh and you forgot to mention BMW's biggest market as normal will not get one.

4 cylinders don't fit the corporate image anymore.

I like the idea of it. One thing to keep in mind, 20 years ago they did not have 8 airbags, DSC, and all the other safety goodies everyone loves. Even Civics now are heavy, considering their size. My buddy actually just ordered a new 07 Civic Si, 197hp, but sadly only 139 lb-ft of torque. The numbers show it actually quicker than my e46 325cI!

Im a broke ass college student, so my 4 banger 318 is plenty fun for me. I do wish I had at least some feeling of torque. This car just seems even worse.
