    YAY, I spent some money

Today was the day... I ordered a 3.25 Limited Slip rear differential for my car. I know most of you could care less but I am excited about it! It is shipping tomorrow and I should hopefully have it by Monday at the latest and I will get it in sometime next week. Sweet.

    Just thought I would share.

Won't that make the car sloooow to accelerate. I would have thought a 3.73 or 3.64 at the most would be suitable for a 2.7.

I'm sticking with my 3.91 sport diff for my 2.8 conversion.

not considering the stock diff in an eta...what is it, 2.91? something along those lines...

Ohhh, didn't realise it was an ETA engine, that would explain it.
I heep forgetting about those as you don't generally get them in an E30 here in the UK

I think you should have gotten a 3,73 or a 4,11. I have a 2.7 and can still get it up to 140mph at 6000rpm. in germany a 3,25 would be a downgrade, and we can go as fast as we want, were you would think a 2,91 would be sorta good for top end. Im sure that the 3,25 will be better than the old rear diff though. the 3,25 is what came stock in my M3- i have the euro no overdrive(dogleg), and swapped it out for the 3,64 and feel that is not steepenough. every E30 in the states should have a 4,10 or a 4,27 in it if you ask me.

The eta came with a standard 2.79 diff or a 2.93 LSD I believe. I'd like to eventually step up to a 3.25 as well. I've heard of other eta owners going to the 3.46, but I hear it really sucks on the highway.

2.93 LSD was an option for 325 and 325e it was standard on the 325eS. :)

Well, my car has the base model open diff wqhich if probably the 2.79 ot whatever the hell that one is so this one will be a big upgrade but will still allow freeway cruising and won't create a pointless first gear. If I'm really not happy with it, I can always get a 3.73 from a 325is but I don't think I will be doing that.

And yes, it's an ETA, revs to 5200 with my chip. :)
