I'm interested what you do for flooring in your garage. When I get a garage and money, I'd like to go with this. It looks nice and would be good for wrenching on or under the car.

Here are a few pics of the garage I built last year

        18' x 24'
        10' ceilings
        toilet with stainless sink
compressed air in the walls with a compressor in the attic

I wish it was bigger, but it does the job pretty nicely. It's warm, has lots of light, and tons of outlets.
It's a mess right now because I'm in the middle of a twincam swap AND a 5 lug swap. And I don't have enough time to work on it. And I'm going to be a father in 7 weeks. This might be the only place that is quiet for the rest of my life....

work bench, storage, lots of parts, and bikes

        hey look! it's an e30!

my old timey millermatic and my s52

        hooray compressed air!

i had pictures of when my last project was in full gear but the car was centered in all the pictures so none of them gave the garage justice to show how i had it set up.
the home PO painted the floor with acrillic which for a garage is a no-no. Quickcrete epoxy all the way this time!! Except i'm having to scrape up all the old paint which had turned out to be a complete bitch!
i'll share again when its done and theres a bimmer in there too.

I go to a friends place, or my folks house. I've even just done some work like changing the oil and such at my appartment. If they ask what I'm doing I say I had a flat tire. Nobody seems to mind then.

i work on my car at work. all the compressed air i would ever need, my tools+my boss' tools, 4 drive on lifts, 4 saddle style lifts, and lots-o-beer in the fridge:D
the only thing i love more than my e30 is my set of tools!

That's awesome, all you guys that have access to shops with lifts are lucky fellows, indeed. My father in law was a mechanic for about 20+ years, and along with that, has pretty much every tool imaginable, automotive and non, so working on cars over at Andrew's house is nice. He's got pretty much everything but a lift.

Only pics i have. Its shitty but it has nice lights and i am slowly making it more organized. I am starting by throwing away most of the crap inside and making half assed shelves throughout. It doesn’t help the organization of it when i have pulled four motors and gone through four cars in under a year. There are parts EVERYWHERE and now with a parts car it’s even worse. I am lucky to have so much space for the area i live in though and I can park two cars in the barn and a few outside. There is a lower two car section to it that is starting to get cleaned out, i will probably park my red car there when its done. And no i dont live in it although during vacations i pretty much do. I would love to rebuild this place and put in a nice loft but that wont happen.

My dad just got a job offer in SC. He was looking at land around some known lake, don't know the name off hand, but a piece (not big) was around $900,000. Thats for maybe 3-4 acres. He was looking at how he could live there the cheapest and he figured out that to move our current house was $200,000 to SC found out this was the cheapest way to go. So for a 3-4 acres of land on the lake with a 5000 sq ft. ranch house moved from Ohio is a lot. I think many parts of SC are very expensive. Why not just keep the job in Michigan is the question.

I work in my garage, usually have my wife park in the driveway if it's going to be an extended job. Try not to do that too much. Will post pics later tonight.
I'm getting some good ideas from your garages.

                                Rennsport,

How much clearance do you have on the sides of your lift posts?

I have found a low rise two post lift that will fit in my garage based on height, but I am trying to determine if it will fit and not impinge too much on my boss', er wife's side of the garage.
