Got my head back today from the machine shop, only bent three valves on my mis-shift... Ordered a head gasket kit also today, and hopefully the Smurf will be up and running soon.

Pistons and connecting rods are in perfect condition, im very happy, cause this situation could have been a lot worse

For sure, i saved up 5 grand, thinking that i would have had to replace everything, since i didnt run it, after my little mishap, and now its looking to be under 1500 with the rebuild.

Just replaced the aftermarket valves, i kind of wish i did a bore, out to a 3.2, but its fine how it is.

Well you'd have to do a "bore and stroke" to get 3.2L from 3.0L. So you'd have to change the crank, bore, and use S52 pistons. Not worth it IMHO if all you have to do is replace the top end and the bottom end didn't get damaged.

You certainly lucked out with nothing happening to the bottom end! Sounds like you'll be up and running in no time.

Yeah i know what the extra work would have required, but i have a little left over cash, that i solely saved up for rebuilding the motor, but it really isnt it worth it. Im bringing it to my shop to have it put backtogether, i only take things apart. :roll:

I just dont have the time to put it all back together, and my mechanic will do a better job then i can do on it, so i thought i would make life easier.

I wish, i need a respray, i new drivers side rear hub, i need some coils, i need hella smoked and hids, and a few other things. Plus, i dont need that kind of power yet, i get myself in enough trouble with what it has now.

I already have my investments figured out right now, my dad helps me invest, usually i take half a paycheck and through it into some new investments.

Im only 19, i cant go to AC yet, but as it not being too bad for putting the motor back together, i just dont have the time or the resources to do it now, plus my garage isnt heated, any my mechanic hooks me up because i am the head of his advertisement, i go out to meets, hand out business cards, and advertise for him on these sort of forums.

Yeah, I hear you on the lack of time.

If your mechanic hooks you up, it's probably better to have a guy who's done it before to install the cams, head, and vanos. It is a long process, and it's definitely not a relaxing way to spend a day.

I'm sure it's a lot more fun to fire up the car knowing it'll work, than to fire it up and listen carefully for expensive noises. :mrgreen: Better to fire it up and leave two strips.
