    The impulse sensor detects a signal (magnetic) from the crankshaft. As far as the function goes, I would imagine it aids in when the spark plugs fire, and may have something to do with the fuel injection system & ECU.

      Sorry.. that's wrong.. The crank positioning sensor is a magnetic sensor that detects either TDC or BDC of the crank and your car will not start without it. The impulse sensor picks up when the ignition system fires on plug 6 (IIRC). From what I understand it is this way to help the ECU retard timing when nessesary.

        being as the Magnecor Wires are 40 bucks I'll go with them. I don't think changing the loom will be that hard. And I'm assuming the senor on plug6 reusable?
