Buy a new one, don't half ass it. I had mine snap while trying to merge onto a highway in my 325is.... its a cheap new piece.

Except mine broke when I when to pass someone. Not cool. I actually had to Macgeiver a cable with Home Depot stuff to get home. :) There are a couple threads on replacing it too as the clip on the bulkhead can be annoying on some cars.
Tell the guy who is selling it that it is a major problem. IE malfunction throttle body or the entire intake manifold is soo backed up with.... reciprocating backpressure that the engine will need at the very least a new carburator and possibly an entirely new intake and head.
