Are Evo M3 bushing better than urethane bushings?

Tried to order some e30 urethane bushings from Iremand and I got this.
    We received your order. Thanks

The E30 urethane front control arm bushings have been discontinued.
Sorry we did not update the web site quickly. We have seen too many
failures. There are several people making/advertising these but we had
reports of failures involving all the brands.

I would recommend the evo M3 solid rubber bushings are a better choice.
I will sell you the M3 bushings at the same $80 price. Please let us
    know.

So is he right? Is that a fair price?

Urethane are stiffer and will last forever. The complaints I've heard a lot of some urethane bushings is that they pop out of the control arm. Some companies have corrected this by fastening plates of carbon fiber to the outside to keep them in. I suggest Powerflex bushings, that is what I have and I love them and their design makes them impossible to come out. I think BMP might sell them. If they don't, try Bimmerworld.

I've heard of numerous failures as well, but I've heard that Powerflex updated their design to fix it.

      $80 is a decent deal.

do you need urethane control arm bushings on a street car? the M3 offset bushings are fine, they are already stiffer than the factory 325 bushings, plus it's a good idea to replace them when you change control arms anyway. and at $90 a pair, they aren't exactly expensive either..

Urethane will be stiffer then the offset bushings, but the offset bushings are stiffer then stock.

If you want some bushings that do not flex, get the delrin ones from TMS, these will never fall apart, or get the ones from Ground Control.

Treehouse Racing makes Bushings that are Teflon/Nylon Moly and have a lifetime warranty.
I just got them installed on my car and they are amazing; I will get pictures of them this weekend.

Powerflex's new design looks to be pretty stout, they were a bit of a bitch to install, but the new reinforced design looks like it will hold up pretty well.

GC says they are NOT for street use, do you concur?

Oh come on. Your fathers cock says "for external use only" but obviously your mother went and took it internally anyways.

Of course you can use them on the street. Its just going to be a bumpy ride.

although a shitty analogy, i agree, they will be fine for the street.

I am running some stiff Teflon bushings, and there is only a slight increase in road noise and harshness, but nothing bad.

Nope, never heard anything good or bad about them.

No jokes about it, they would be brutal on your ass and suspension/car in general on the street. But there is no reason (that aside) why you cant street them.
