    Horrible results...

I'm not ready to say my times, but I beat the Del Sol I raced against. You guys should have come out. There were the coolest cars I've ever seen there. Plus, the other 3 bmws that showed up were all e46 M3's and they sucked balls big time. 2 of the 3 got smoked by imports of the non-turbocharged civic/other variety and that's no joke.

16.4 @ 83... I almost didn't get that typed. The tears are making my fingers all slippery. That's knee deep into civic w/ air intake & exhaust territory. Pathetic. It seriously 'felt' like a good run. (only got one run in) I was confident it would be low 16's/high 15's, but man was I wrong. I launched at 3K with only a little bit of wheelspin and hit every shift exactly where I wanted to... but that was the best I could do. It is a powerful motivator to do something with my engine, though. I don't feel 'toooo' bad because one of the e46 m3s ran a 15 sec run and the other a very high 14s run. In their cases, though, it wasn't the car limiting performance...
Also, turns out the viper that I took pics of wasn't turbocharged, but supercharged. I found a video of it on the web if you guys are interested (30mb).

Wow, that's weird. I wonder how my eta would do.

BMW's aren't made for drag races, personally, I prefer the turns!

well, i've dragged my '90 325is a couple times this past friday was one of them, with my car on 17's and street tires i ran a 15.883 @ 87.82 mph, its down from when i had my 14's i lost gearing, my best time ever was a 15.551@ 88.81 mph.

                i also saw, another white e30 out there runing 16.8's i recall, a e36 m3 running high 14's
                and a e46 m3 putting out high 13's.

this was all at mission raceway.

how u enjoy it, i have a couple pics i'll get around to posting.

                oh and btw

there is a 11.00 vw golf there that smokes everything :)

The dragstrip is the ultimate humilator. A car almost never runs what you expect. It's a difficult environment for a street car and probably takes about 20 runs to get a car dialed in and actually perform good numbers.

What were the track conditions there, like density altitude, temp., etc.....?

Sounds like no one was running good times there that day.

Conditions were awesome. Couldn't have been over 70', light wind...great conditions. I must do something about this.

                        Wow! Its alright Fontana Sucks

Fontana Speedway is notorious for low times. Last I went we watched turboed Vipers run 14s/. Number 1 if you have rear wheel drive their launch positions tend to lose all manner of traction. Number 2 My friend has a turbo civic, we built it custom we even burned the ECU after we bought a chip burner to copy my stock 325i chip before I chipped the car. Anyways he ran a 15.5 or at the track, at the streetraces his car hangs with EVO 8s. Its a gay track I like going just for messing around and hanging out around cars running without ducking police. I wanted to go but that damn crack in my windshield is mocking me because now its smog time so I can go pick up a new windshield and the banner didn't cover the crack.

Case in point Fontana Speedway times mean squat.
