There isn't enough room, you seat akward, if it has sport seats, I personally can't sit in them for longer than 1/2hr. I just don't feel any good when I switch my e28 for e30.

Kinda hard to put bilsteins in the back when it's got a self leveling suspension dontcha think?

        Unless you take it out.
Thats what I was getting at, ditch the self leveling and install Bilsteins, everyone does it!

well i mean i currently own 2 e30s, I thought you were just trying to say that for some reason I couldn't think if, 325ix's were less comfortable than regular e30s.

it doesnt have sport seats. i can sit in sport seats all day though, i drove 15 hours straight in my 327i and felt fine

And EVERYONE eliminates the self levelling that Iknow of on E28 ///M5s. Just like everyone cant wait to remove EDC on euro E30 ///M3s.

I don't even know if I'd buy another Bimmer if I had that many, LOL. I have owned 4 3 series now, and my daily driver is an 01 325Ci, project 87 325iS, but for other vehicles I have the work trucks, 3500 and 2500 HD Chevys. Honestly, for the price range, I would probably buy either an old Mercedes or a Volvo. I don't think I would deal well with the 7 series parts costs.....even used its nightmarishly high.

Andre. Look at the streets outside right now. I just drove home from Faherty's with dedicated and GOOD snow tires on my Volvo 240 with some weight in the trunk. Do you know what I would have given to have a 325iX at that very moment?

Seriously, if you're getting rid of it come summertime anyway, who cares.
                  Get the iX.

one is in east aurora one in dunkirk.

i would be selling my '90 325is coupe if i got the 325ix. cheap. like $3k. anyone want it by tomorrow (when im going to look at the ix and 7 series) lol.

I've owned, geez. 5 or 6 e30s. i like the cars. i have a boatload of parts for them, so whenever something breaks 7 out of 10 times i dont even have to source the parts elsewhere.

I would like a newer car, either e39 540i/6 or e46 325xi touring, or 4 door 330xi (depending on budget) will be my nice daily. but I'm thinking I'd rather go 5 lug on the touring, and put ab rb26dett in my 240z, before I buy an expensive dd.

With me, the main reasons I went with the e46 for a daily driver is the fact that I drive a lot. A real lot. My first choice would have been something like a Tahoe or even a Navigator, however, I needed something professional enough, and good on gas, hence the 325Ci. Mine is bone stock, and will stay that way, lol, I just use it to drive everywhere with, and throw tons of miles on it. It will see its way to Iowa next year and back, and Bonnaroo in Tennessee this year and back, etc, nevermind the trips to NYC with it, or even just the around town miles.
I like all different vehciles, but for me I gotta look at MPG first and foremost, especially when I came from a Jeep Wrangler that got me 10mpg!
Best of luck either way, but I;d swing towards the iX if I were you. I love 7 series, but the 3 is more practical and cost managable.

you are looking for a winter car.. so the ix is the obvious choice.

but before you even consider it, you will want to test the VC. the best way to do this is with a large floor jack: jack up either the rear of the car on the diff or the front of the car under the subframe. get in the car and start it up. be careful that you are on a smooth surface and that there is nothing in front or behind the jack. undo the ebrake, put it in gear and slowly let out the clutch (it's not neccesary to use much if any throttle). the car should begin to move instantly. if it goes nowhere, or you have to use lots of throttle to move the car, then your VC is shot and you don't want to buy that car. you can get a new one for $800 but somebody new to the ix isn't going to want to drop the t-case and replace it themselves..

i checked out the ix today.

i had him pull it out of the driveway. when he got stuck the rear wheels were spinning but the fronts weren't.

jacked it up by the rear diff, and the fronts didnt move.

he said i can pick it up cheap. its not that im not willing to do the work, i just dont have the time (school, my touring swap, my '06 636 rebuild, and my 240z).

i think im gonna pass. he called me back and said $1200, and if it were summer maybe i'd take it, but right now with finishing up school i dont have really any free time. in addition it also needs a halfshaft, a back seat (he dyed, well, painted the current one black with vinyl paint), lower control arms, and a few little things like the front bumper has a crack as well as the rear

im gonna go check out the 7 series some time when I feel i can go and do something again

I drove a 88 E32, and I must say, it's a super pimp car. Lots of power, bulletproof M30, and really really comfortable.
