I was driving around last night up in Bellingham. I parked only at one place, at Home Depot and took about an hour inside. I came back home parked in my garage and my rear bumper was gone. Unless it flew off without me or the other two people in my car noticing and came off the wiring for my side markers and perfectly slid out of the side mounts with the bumper support. I figure it had to be stolen in the Home Depot parking lot. I been working on this car for 3 years and just got it to daily drive like a month ago. So if people could keep their eye out and see if it pops up on a forum or craiglist for sale please let me know.

It's white, freshly painted when I painted my car. Man I just went out for a drive to dry off my car after washing it. Should've kept it dirty, would've attracted less attention. I'm pretty sure I'm one of tghe only one's with an M-tech 2 in bellingham. So if you see an M-tech 2 rear bumper in bellinghham it is most likely mine

You need to tell us locals what color it was, and if there were any scratches or identifying marks. Also, you might keep your eye on the Echo, since it's free and the hometown rag. I'm in Mt. Vernon, so if you tell me what color to look for that would help. I seriously doubt it would be going out of town, and PNW is way too small to think someone isn't going to see a buddy 'get' a new m-tech so close to one being stolen.
I bet the guy that stole it doesn't know he screwed his karma, and will soon get a ticket or wreck his car.

What's echo Linus?
Thanks for any help guys I really apreciate it.
It's pretty much the local 'buy & sell' - like CL, but all local to B'ham.

Start reviewing Ebay and my next suggestion would be to ask Home Depot for the Security tapes of the parking lot if they have a security camera.
Maybe with some luck they had one. Worth a chance or maybe someone reported some strange activity i the parking lot.
I would say some one followed you and had a perp follow you in the store. Mighty ballsy if you ask me due to you never know when someone is going to walk out and see someone stealing parts off your car. Around here someone would probably get shot for that at least on the Southeast side of town.

I don't know how hard it is to remove the rear bumper but I would imagine that someone wouldn't be able to pull off a job like that without people seeing you and/or asking them if they needed help.
I doubt that it could have fallen off without you knowing.. the bumper hitting the ground would have made enough noise for you to say, "What the heck was that?" because it would not have fallen off in one big drop. One side would have come loose causing it to drag down the road until it eventually broke free completely.
And then another thing I think of is how the plastic bumper on my 89 325i was knocked off the bracket because someone parking next to me at the supermarket took the turn a little too sharp. The side of her car rubbed up against my bumper and then all of a sudden, there was a loud POP and my bumper was on the ground.
