30 miles isn't bad for a home grown ev bud. as the tzero link i posted proves that is quite usable day to day! And even that isn't backed by a the huge car manufatureres...they can say they have tried to do there own, but i bet the budgets for it are no where near as big as anyother part of current car/technology development.
not sayin battery power is the way ahead only....fuel cell cars also and hybrid...it all helps.
and if you rely on dirty power sources oil/coal fire powersation then yes you transfer pollution, but one day we are gonna have to use clean renuable power, or we'll end up in the stone age again...just with lots of cars that can't go anywhere and computers we can't use!
there was proposals for a some wind turbines in a town just down the road from me. they proposed to but them on the harbour sea wall (its a big harbour)...but the local yaghts sailors compllained because they thought it would look bad internationally and harm international yaghting event chances...WTF...they worried about their wind getting nicked or summet!?
