Probably never, that's their only product. Maybe when something in the industry is drastically changed, but I have a 7 year old radar detector and the technology hasn't changed any.

I've seen on Discovery Channel that the cops are going to be armed w/ actual mobile radar, like a ground-based ASR (airport radar) --- imagine that?

        We're all fucked.

Buy a radar Jammer! Im sure the Brits would make one like they have the laser jammer.

or just take the stupid speeds to the track. I mean if you're smart, you can do 15 over all day a not get pulled. If you drive like a jackass, you're gonna get popped no matter what electronics you're using

Not necessarily. Most of the people on this board NEED that advantage of a good radar detector. Some cops will pull you over for doing 5mph over the limit, because you're in a lowered BMW with a loud exhaust. I get targeted by cops all the time, regardless of how I'm driving. I don't need to drive like a jackass to gets the cops attention.

in my experience, old bmws are rarely the target of police 'discrimination'. I lowered honda with loud exhaust, yes, but not busted ass e30s

Around here riced out Hondas actually attract less attention, even when they're trying to. Cops probably don't worry about them speeding or taking tough corners at high speeds because THEY CAN'T.
Then all the Ultimate Driving Machines get stopped left and right. Sort of a "pre-emptive strike" I guess.

                    I'm no speeder -- I'll do, say, 7mph over --- but that's it.

I have just never used a radar detector before, and have always wondered how much they help.

                      Seriously.

In the last 2 days I have had three people yell at me to slow down as I drove by, and I wasn't going anymore than 10 over the limit. And I have a stock exhaust. I feel for you Jarvis...

I will definitely be getting a V1 once I get the money together for a detector. I used Jarvis' on a trip down to New Jersey and it saved me on numerous occasions. The arrows are very, very helpful, especially when the cops are coming up from behind on the highway.

I'm still a fan of the K40 with laser diffuser, NEVER been pulled over in a car with one and I average 12 over most of the time, I also keep my vision peeled 1/4 a mile ahead as to spot them, that's how they are trained with radar...point and shoot 1/4 mile at a time

Yep. I do 10-15 over most every day for 2 years and have yet to get a ticket. You just gotta be smart about it- dont speed in school zones, or where its 35, in small towns or where you are unfamiliar with the area.

But around here BMW's do get more attention than other cars. Cops here seem to think 'those damn rich kids' can afford to and should be pulled over just cause they have a chip on their shoulder.

Too bad my car and other's like it are a dime a dozen ;)
