Truck meets e30, guess who won?

Going out to work today one of those jacked up F 150 work trucks is riding in the lane next to me, decides he wants to be in my lane. I saw hit coming over and started to brake and blow my horn, but he never thought twice about coming over. His rear tire hit my fender, pushed me into the curb, and then his big ass diamond mat bumper ripped a hole in the fender. Now the company he works for is claiming that it was my fault and that i'm not going to get anything out of the insurance company. And of course the police are no help. The Maryland State trooper said is only duty in an accident where both cars are drivable is to clear the road way and make sure that insurance information is exchanged. I swear something bad happens everytime I take my e-30 out. :x

damn, that sucks big time. hopefully things will work out for the better.
Our police and other officers have to stay on the scene unless the emergency reporting act is in place, where if theres bad weather they dont even have to come, but they just usally do insurance.

Have the names of any witnesses?

Once it is established that everyone is ok, get names and numbers of witnesses ASAP otherwise it's your word against his.

Likewise, if you witness an accident stop and give your info so the good driver doesnt get shafted.

if you dont have any witnesses, call a popular radio station and ask if they can relay a message, and give them your contact number. just incase some good samaratin wants to help you out.

I don't know how the radio stations operate over where you are, but they would never do that over here..........no way. Get a lawyer, NOW! And sue the bastards if they don't want to play nice.

I'm pretty sure this thing is going to have to go to court, so I guess i'm going to have to find myself a lawyer( :evil: money out of my pocket). I talked to their insurance company( had to get my agent to find the number) and I filed a claim against the company, an adjuster will be calling me within 3 business days to discuss things futher. I'm pretty sure no radio station in my area would put a random shout out for witnesses on the radio either. Pictures will be taken tommorrow morning, i'm going to do my best to get a shot of a situation similar to mine where a car is waiting to make a left hand turn in one lane and a car is passing in the right.

The first officer to stop at the scene was a city cop that also coaches lax at my old high school, I explained the situation to him and he was certian that the other guy's insurance would have to cover it and from the various points of impact it was clear what happened( there is red paint on the door up through the fender and also the mirror was pushed in and has paint on it). I guess i'm going to bring him into the situation as well. I have my fingers crossed that stuff is going to work out for the best and the bastards aren't going to try and total it.

Thats one problem with Maryland. Millions of huge trucks that are too tall and don't give a fuck about little cars on the road because people feel like they're up on a throne in their Silverados with gigantic tires.

Had the same situation with a Uhaul truck on 270, blared the horn, but he wasn't stopping, so I gunned it and got about a foot away from the guardrail flying around this idiot. I don't even want to know how close I came to getting creamed between a guard rail and a Uhaul...

Sometimes I feel that I should just LOOK at my car since I know there's idiots out there like that.

ha ha Jordan, I know I need to get with the times and get a digi Jordan. But my buddy is gonna take some with his 11 megapixel SLR. Should be high enough quality for you guys.

Give him 3 weeks to take some pictures, finish off the roll, get the film back from wal-mart, scan them in, go into pshop and turn the brightness & contrast down to "-60", and then he can get them posted up.

Good luck with the insurance company. I know how massive trucks can be, I know a few people that own them and drive like they will run any little car in there way over.
