Sound-deadening? maybe. Weight balance? that too.

You've had days with nothing to do but hang out with the car - time enough to rip that stuff out.

Who chooses to leave it in? why?

Mine is still in only because I'm lazy. It should be gone by spring break.

I took about 1 little piece out of it.

i turn the radio up to mask all the other noises my car makes, so a little road noise is no bother.

another question to add - did anyone notice a difference of noise level?

yes, its just a bit louder. Its about as noticable as the difference in weight is. Just a wee bit.

I prefer to leave it in because if I want something with REALLY loud interior noise, I would go get an old VW.

                    Lol yeah

Has anyone taken their back seat out then took the fuel pump cover off? Makes it SUPER noisy! I can't believe how much sound that little cover takes out.

I leave it in because...um...I don't like my car to be loud?

I don't think it makes much difference in noise.. I've been in cars with and without it and I can't tell any difference. mine seems pretty quiet, really.

it is probably only noticeable at high speeds. but at high speeds the sound of rushing air should be louder than your tires thumping the pavement, unless your tires are bald spotted or way out of balance.

I've left mine in because I plan to put in an s50 and thought it may help with traction. Weight balance, too as the s50 is a little heavier.
