CSU Chico....anyone know anything about it??

I lookinig into different schools I really want to go to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo...(Mech Engineering of course) but it's a hard program to get into. So I am looking at some back-up schools that I would be happy with.

Anyone been to to CSU chico?

CalPoly is damn good for engineering. I have a friend there right now.

CSU Chico? You like to party, eh? There are about 5 UC schools that I'd apply to before Chico.

I kinda want to go to a school that is LESS therotical and more "hands-on" the CSU's have that reptuation. I live right near UCSB, but the program is really competitive - I hate that BS...

I use to party...I don't anymore. You haven't partyed untill you lived in Isla Vista(USCB's college town) right on the ocean...

Cal Poly Pomona is exactly the same, just in a different place. Our motto is also "learn by doing" like SLO. The only difference is that only 20% of students live on campus...everyone commutes here. Also girls are beat, if your looking for a woman go to SLO, thats where my g/f goes and all the girls are hot as hell. I'm a 1st year Computer Engineer here...i seem to like it so far.

Go to USC. Their engineering program is great even if I hate their football team. I think it's pretty hard to get into though.

Chico is about an hour or so north of me. Never went there, but I remember hearing all the stories about the crazy parties. I think its been toned down some in recent years.

However, between Chico and Cal Poly, I would take the latter all the way. Good school.
