    cat-back exhaust options

I know there are several choices out there for manufactured cat-back systems for the E30 (albeit, some are rather costly). If one didn't want to spend a premium on such a system, what alternatives are? By this I mean going to a local shop and selecting a universal muffler of some sort (i.e. Borla, MaxFlo, etc.).

What would you get? Any particular ones to consider (or avoid)?

    TIA

I got a universal dtm muffler with single 2.5 inch piping from the downpipe back. Sounds pretty good and can be had for roughly $200-$300.
