So we just got some bad ass Racing karts

I am sure all of you have raced gokarts, but ever raced racing karts?

We just got a new indoor gokart place right by my house. take a look they are awesome.

    $9,000 karts
    0-40 in 3 seconds.
    electric
carts can go anywhere from 25 -116 mph(outside on a long stretch)

they are supposed to be expanding to other states after seeing how well it goes here.

    Taken from the website

These are not the karts you remember as kids. Our karts reach up to 45 miles an hour and accelerate from 0-40 in less than 3 seconds. Our karts also deliver superb response and handling. The all electric karts eliminate the exhaust fumes generated by gas-powered engines

Sound like the electric karts we have in SoCal. :dunno

Nothing like the normal 2 stroke karts, or the shifter karts ...

You guys may not understand the potential of electric motors. They provide instant torque, and it is constant. Almost a flat torque curve, not a peaky one.

True dat man....true dat. Electric motors start at peak torque and gradually taper off. With indoor karting where some corners are sharp and speeds can be slow (10-15mph), having a butt-load of twist on tap will be nice to have.

Case in point: diesel/electric locomotives. The diesel engine drives a generator which powers the electric motor which provides peak torque at 1 rpm. The ideal solution when you have two miles of loaded railcars to get into motion.

Ahhh... duh. I am always amazed at people that see electric as "no power", or guys that think TQ is a bi-product of HP.

I was raceing karts when I was 10 years old...give me a break...briggs and stratton FTW.....

My buddy kart raced for about 4 years gas powered. The gas powered shifter karts are insane. THey do like 0-80 mph in like 3 seconds. And some of the shifter karts can do over 110. Sick ass little karts.
