Hamilton is doing an amazing job right keeping pace with Raikonen(sp?).
Sucks that ------ just pulled in and is done. BMW needs to get their shit together and make their F1 cars not as sensitive to every little thing. Heidfeld is doing pretty good too.
Sorry, not Webber but the other BMW driver, can't think of his name...
Without giving away too much since there may be some who have yet to see this race, let me just say that Hamilton had a great debut performance. I have a feeling he is going to be one to watch. He's quick, consistent and makes very few mistakes......the key ingredients needed for a promising career in F1.

kubica is the one that went in the pits for bmw, even though that happened bmw still scored some points, and i am very pleased with their debut performance..
teams to watch:
ferrari - kimi for sure
mclaren - hamilton (and let me say i am amazed with this guy he is good and its his first race?! hes only 22 years old!!!)
- alonso (i think he is going to be frustrated with his teamates performance)
bmw - they seem like they have it together this year, i believe both drivers will be strong if they have the car they want

if they have the cars they want? WTH? BMW has been building the highest HP & highest reving motors in F1 for the past few years now, they just need to work on a little thing called reliability!!!

Your assessment in the teams to watch is pretty spot on. Ferrari clearly have the pace and set the benchmark for 2007. How about Messa's run? His car was saddled with some issues (gearbox I think) so he started waaay back in the field and managed to grab 6th at the checker. Had he started somewhere in the top 10 then the odds of two Ferraris on the podium is a very real possibility.
McLaren seems to have nixed their reliability issues which haunted them all last year. Alonso is still quick and consistent and although his teammate Hamilton had an impressive debut run, Fred's lap times were quicker. However, in time this may change as Lewis gets more comfortable in an F1 car. And by the way, Hamilton is just 21.....which makes his accomplishments and talent all the more impressive.
BMW Sauber needs to get a reliable gearbox into their car. Nick's was fine but Kubica's wasn't resulting in his DNF. During the final month of winter testing this gearbox problem surfaced a few times and it seems it still isn't perfect. I'm speculating this is one of those new 'seamless' shift boxes which Steve Matchett stated is good for 0.3 per lap when on pace. Once BMW gets this trans problem solved they will be consistently behind McLaren....and could capitalize on points should Fred or Lewis flinch.

i think bmw is a great car and i am not bashing it by any means, sure they had a little gearbox trouble but that will get cleared up im sure. what i really meant was that is heifeld and kubica have the cars set up the way that they like, in time for the race, they should put in some impressive results.
ferrari is still the team to beat. they can start last place and still make it in the points. ie massas result. they have bullet proof reliabilty and two damn fine drivers.
as far as mclaren goes, they had a good first race...if they keep the rest of the season going like melbourne...and dont have as many dnfs as last year, they should be running close with the ferraris...
as far as the other teams go, i am very disappointed with the renault teams...being french and all, it sucks to see that they dont have the driver they need to win races like last year. they have a great car i just dont think fisichella has it in him to consistently win races...and as far as the other drive goes he didnt impress me much...
honda...LOLOLOL 300 million spent on the car they have this year and it is SLOWER then last years car...tsk tsk boys
