The counter rotating cams are a great way to reduce valvetrain weight... the m62/s62 chain is very heavy and long. I am sure the new one is not a feather weight, but at 8000+ rpms every once is exponentially heavier!

I would rock that car... cars all look the same today, but a BMW still drives like a BMW.

I drove a new 5er with the electronically variable steering... I was in love!! low speed slalom (sp) is truely amazing, turn in was so smooth!

I can only imagine what the top of the line M would be like, even though they have conventional steering... just saying, the worn ass out e30s are great, but a new Bimmer is as tight as a nun's waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles in the middle of a snow storm!

    New m3>my car

92mm bore x 72mm stroke. The engine should be more reliable in racing trim than the S54 since the piston speeds are down significantly. Hopefully BMW will be able to offer Porsche some competition in GT racing.

          +1

That's the most exciting part of it.

I'm sure with some vanos delete and wild-assed cams the engine will be outputting some ricockulous hp.

BMW doesn't do vanos deletes on their racing motors... they have more sense than that.

Hmm I could have sworn at least on some S54s that PTG had a blockoff plate for the Vanos, and not because of a lack of tuning talent or a powerful enough standalone EMS.
