probably because you are honest so you didnt think about "abusing" your privilege as they see it. which is good. Even with your discount you got they still make money. I worked at a clothing store and every 3 months you'd get 3 things 50% off and anything you wanted 30% off all the time. even with that they probably still make a killing on every item you buy.

Typically the cost of retail pricing allows for damages, returns, slow business, etc. where as when they sell to the employee, they don't have those issues. 99% of the time the employee knows exactly what he is buying, he knows exactly what he wants, and he knows how to properly use it. Plus, if the employee needs to return the item, he isn't going to demand the same level of service and attention that the average consumer expects in a normal retail transaction.

So the company still makes a profit, however, the danger of losing the profit is less likely with the employee.

Yea, I work at a BMW/Volvo/Merc salvage/repair shop here in Baton Rouge. (see sig) We have WorldPac and I did a tally about how much it would cost me to rebuild a M50 (with new valves) with all new gaskets, coolant lines, just about everything and the price I tallied from WorldPac was just under 1100 dollars. That is the price we would pay. Now, the price a customer would pay would be somewheres around double that. I love parts hook-ups.
