It only works on black cars because the molecular structure of pigmentation draws out the excess heat from the metal while the dry ice contracts the metal. All other colors cause this process to be ineffective.

Exactly right. One of the ways I heard to do it was with black car, to leave it out in the sun all day and let the paint get super hot, and then dry ice around the dent. The extreme temperature difference is what is supposed to make the dent pop out. But that's just one of the methods I know of using dry ice.

So if I don't know any better and I happen to get frostbite on my testicles because I was trying something new with my girlfriend, it seems as if they wouldn't sell it to just anyone.
Please tell me you don't need someone to tell you not to put dry ice on your balls. You could go buy a bottle of brake fluid and drink it, should it be restricted? Don't give politicians any more reason to think they need to babysit the population.

15 years ago I gave up being responsible for my own actions. If the gov't didn't tell me that my coffee would be hot or that the knife is sharp or that I shouldn't walk around with my shoes untied I don't know how I would survive.

Actually the car is black. You are just seeing a strange hue created by the sun against the camera angle.

yea that stuff works on any color. i did it on my moms white station wagon and my dads 350 z white. someone shot his z with a bb gun cause we parked it in a private lot. but yea metal when chilled tightens up. and when warm expands. sometimes u gotta chill and rub it in for a while. but ull hear the metal creeking. its pretty cool. guy with oj big huge dent, get the ding king kit. but dont use the twisty thing that it comes it. just glue on an insert and YANK HARD AS HELL!

Pretty sure you're going to get alot more torque using a rotational lever than 'yanking on it real hard mang'

I think he's saying shear forces work better than torsion in his case. Actually I know nothing of this subject.

Good to know. However, since the temperature difference it whats needed, you could heat up the area with a heat gun, then use dry ice to make it pop out, correct?

Glad to hear it works on black cars though

Careful with the heatgun on lighter colors because if they get too hot colors (white especially) can tend to yellow. I'm not saying don't do it, just make sure you don't get too gungho about it.
