The cars that are going to be there on SAT are the fastest cars on dirt.

an STI is pretty fast, but yeah, a regular WRX isn't much to worry about.

Also with all their drivetrain loss and weight they aren't much of anything from a roll when you have a reg WRX. My buddies STi with full exhaust, ecu tuning and all that jazz is pretty damn fast though.

What??? Is there something wrong with your Cobra? My 86 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z C/S pulled away from a WRX on the highway. But my Daytona had a built 2.2 TurboII in it.

See thats the problem, those turbo cars have a much higher power band than the Cobra. Yalls power band is up high and mine is down low.

All of the major mags have the '04 WRX at between 5.6 and 5.8 seconds 0-60. The '89 325iS is spec'd at 7.5 seconds.

Even from a rolling start, you have no chance with a similar driver.

Ask him if it was between windy hill and delk or near that. I dropped fourth while rolling with a black suby the other day... He didn't seem like he was racing me, but we were pacing.... I didn't do it to race or show off, I did it to get past a soccer mom before she took me out.
As far as the whole which is faster debate.... at 65 to 75 my car runs with my friend's wrx wagon. Now from zero to anything, I am wasted. Plus the 4.10 doesn't really help with the top end factor either. But at 70 mph I am actually very close to the power band....
Before I hear any shit, I have the m30 afm swap, 19 lb injectors, cai (might actually work at that speed!), a mark d chip tuned for my set up, honed and extruded Intake manifold, and of course the 4.10. If I got the jump on him which is very possible, I could have walked a bit.
Ask him if the car had black rims and foglight covers.... and if it was clean with no pollen. If it had one of those three things, it was me.
