    My s50

Here are some pictures of my new to me 95 m3 motor. It has around 40k on it and the tranny has about 20k, Right now I am just going through it doing the usual upgrades, new metal impeller waterpump, euro hfm, 24lb injectors, and replacing gaskets etc.

Thing sure looks filthy. What did the car look like?

The pictures make it look dirtier than it really is, although it is pretty dirty, you can see the tranny of the before and after cleaning. Most of it is just surface dust. It was sitting in a garage for a few months the guy was having a kid and couldn't afford to swap it into his 318ti anymore.

          Beau,

That's awesome, I'm sure you're looking forward to joining the 24-valve squad.

Any reason you're going for 24lb injectors?

Have you considered retaining your 325's stock transmission?

oh crap. See how it has the square oil filler cap? That means it will only pass emissions in certain regions of Kansas. The extreme northeast region.
                Im now E30less.

Actually, they JUST passed a statute in KS denying the emissions for the square oil filler cap engines. Yeah, they seem to have coincidentally passed one in Winston-Salem, NC, allowing them to pass inspection. Especially over by Peace Haven Road. In my garage.

                  ;) ;)

Stu - I was going to use the 325 tranny but with all the miles that I have on it, I decided to go with the m3 tranny. I know that your dad actually recommended the 260 tranny, but the high milage on it just scares me. I went with 24 lb injectors because I got them really cheap, and they are new. I know there is a debate whether 21.5 or 24 or better. Did you go with 21.5 lb injectors?

Thanks for all the kind words about my ugly engine ;) and yes I can not wait to get it in there

Ugly and S50 are two words that dont find each other in the same sentance :) I am looking forward to seeing you advance in your project. Please post pics of the progress. I am overly fascinated by this swap.

Cool. Let us know how the M3 trans works out for you. I am running the 17# injectors that come in the M50's and '95 M3, however we installed an adjustable FPR tuned to 62psi (stock is 52), so it runs pretty well. I might make more power with 21.5's and a chip programmed for them, but I'm happy with my current setup.

Do you have any idea on when it should be finished?

Hey Beau, what part of Columbus are you located? If it's not an issue I'd enjoy shadowing some of the process of the install, as I'm looking to do the same next year.
