    Pimp vans......

I love air cooled buses......what are your thoughts? Anyone own one, or used to?

How low those buses are to the ground is inversely proportional to how high their drivers are.

I'd love to restore a 21-window if I had the time or money.

That being said, I'm really toying with the idea of picking up an early-mid 80's westfalia vanagon, starting to see them with rebuilt motors for not a lot of $$.

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

My dad has an 87 Westfalia camper...want's to stick a 944 engine in there.

          I want to slap him.

            944? Hmm..

The "cool" swap for the westies right now seems to be the 1.9 diesel out of the jettas. I have my eye on an 82 non-westie (with a sunroof!) with the diesel swap.

Yup. 944 Turbo motor is what his mechanic is trying to convince him to do. That or a Jetta III swap.

I think he should get the 10 large out of the van and make a nice down payment on an X3...but he wants a Touareg....

                I can't win.

.A 944 motor, eh? That's one conversion I wasn't aware of. I have read about putting in a 2.0L 8-valve golf/jetta motor and there's also Porsche 911 engine conversions (read: not cheap)....but with the latter, think how quick that mo-fo can be.

I've always found the late model Crew Cabs kinda cool. Very utilitarian in many respects. With those fold down sides it should be easy to put a shifter kart in there 8)

The Combi and the Vanagon were the most purposeful vans of their time. TONS of space and no clutter. The combi would take any engine from a Nissan to a Porsche, just had to make sure you kept them cool.

Had my fair share of fun in both those vans as a teenager.

The a-team van was the best though, smoking tires and going sideways that thing was the best part of the a-team show. I used to rewind the Knight rider and A-team tapes soo much as a kid that they got f'ed  (damn VHS ha ha)

I would love one of those if I could find one. There's one up by me that I see all the time, saw this beauty on ebay, wicked price though.

The A team van couldnt make all that smoke under its own power and they had to use bleach.

                              Sold it.
