    e30/944

Maybe because of the tranny inbetween the rear wheels (corvettes are now this way in order to accomplish the same 50/50 balance). Otherwise, I think the main difference is that the e30 was engineered as a "touring" car, the 944 as more of a sports car. I may have a better understanding of the difference after I've spent some time in the BMW (I pick it up tomorrow evening).

My mechanic, who happens to be the one selling me the 325i, is not a fan of the 944 series because of the mechanical issues and reliability. If you wanted to get a much better feel for the details of the car then www.rennlist.org is the place to go for all the info you need. J

Also, I may have posted twice by mistake...damn I hate when that happens!

I'm thinking my friend might enjoy the reliablity of his accord too much in the initial years of college. (It's stock though, so no ricer talk) I believe I'll get him hyped for a Pcar through the years, and hopefully he'll get one eventually. It doesn't seem to make logical sense to pick up a high-maintence costing Porsche right now for him.

There is a $4k 86 944 NA in the classifieds. But I assume it'd cost some change to fix problems wrong with it, and get it in good condition. I wish I could a friend that would buy it. (The neighbor of my girl's has a 944, but I don't know him.....maybe I should meet him)

Man, but I really want a Porsche after college. They make not be real practical as far as seating, and may be expensive, but damn, the first great riding experience as a kid was in a boxster with the top down. :D
