What do you guys think of the new VW R32???

Nice car, but for $31,000, maybe an EVO would be better?

    What do you guys think???

I saw a BLUE one, and it looks great!

They sound like really cool cars. Maybe I'll wait 4 years until depreciation has them changing hands for $15K.

When they've depreciated, I still think I'll want a Golf GTi MKII (1991-ish).

nice car but when things break i think EVO parts would be cheaper in the long run.

too slow for that kind of money. Othewise it's a very nice car. Great exterior appointments and really nice interior layout.

For $30k it's just really not fast at all

I was talking to my friend about the R32 the other day, then his brother jumped in the conversation and was telling us all about it (his brother works at the VW dealership here in Napa) and he said a guy came in with the R32 to have something fixed on it. But anyways he said that right before the muffler there is a valve that when full throttle is engaged the valve opens and bypasses the muffler to have a "straight pipe effect". He also took it for a drive with his manager, and was able to bring up the traction control light while shifting to third

My sentiments exactly. You can get a nice 2001 Audi A4 1.8T now for 15k. Just wait a few years.

I like the body stying of them a lot. I've been a huge GTi fan since the A2 (My Fav is the '92).

R32 will not have typical VW depreciation, since it will be a short run, and they'll have the new golf out before too long

From what I read, they will limit the production to 5,000 shipped to NA. Maybe for the first year.

Having said that, it may become a collector and will likely not depreciate as much.

240 horses!!! A simple bolt-on would bring it to 400hp! I can imagine what the car would sound like with a good intake. These VR6's sound the best with an intake!

A red one caught my eye last week because it looked different with DUAL exhausts.
