They let the BMWs sell themselves.

Now on to I-5 Motors. They are awesome. I have talked with Alex (the owner) quite a few times. He put together the dealership with the idea of having it setup a little like a museum type setting with the cars for sale. Basically a high end dealership where anyone that just wants to check out the cars is more then welcome to just look while being treated like a human. I have stopped quite often to look and the salesman are always happy to just talk without caring that I am 21 and just looking at Ferraris and all. Oh, and Willise30 works as a mechanic for I-5 Motors.
Yeah, it's a good place as a general rule and the salesmen are actually all pretty cool. It's always nice to hear good things about work as opposed to how evil you are.:o

We are discussing the salesmen not the asshole mechanics stealing from the poor saps that actually take their cars there. :D

I've had great luck at BMW Northwest and BMW Bellevue when it comes to the professionalism of the salesman and technicians, always nice to talk to and were always very eager to answer my questions.

BMW Seattle didn't make any attempt to really do anything, rather quick to answer, and in general pretty useless, however I'm sure they had somebody else who was helpful as Derek described.

I can't comment on I-5 Motors, as I've walked around but in general was ignored.

I talked to alot of local dealers when looking for the E46 M3, and in the end while its coming from the East Coast, it was nice to have 2 dealers that really did try and help (Fife and Bellevue)

M-Cars was another awesome place, talked to the owner for awhile on the phone, and dropped by a few times, really nice place and a true enthusiast shop. Sadly prices on E46's are just high on this coast vs the east.

Yours is the red e30 with the clear/red tails, right?

I've seen it both times that I was there. The first time when we bought the Volvo, Terry was going to introduce me to you but you were already gone. And then the second time when I went in to pick up the plates, but I didn't have my car.

Weird, I'd think car prices would be a relatively flat market as far as competitiveness between regional dealers.

So your mom got the e46? :O Awesome

Nope, I've got the silver one in the shop. That red one belongs to a guy at BMW NW, they park in our lot ocasionally along with some of the Mini guys since their new shop is under construction. It's a clean little 318is though, I'm envious of it. I don't mind meeting people at all, it's fun to chat, naturally I can't take too much time out of my day to shoot the breeze but if you're ever in feel free to introduce yourself. I'll be swearing about Audis or something down on the far end of the shop.

As for BMW NW, I've had good and bad experiences there. They actually send work to us, and their parts guys bend over backwards to help us out when we need a dealer only item. George is a great guy. The two shops have a good relationship which is nice. On the other hand I can say that at times the place does give off a negative vibe. A few of our customers have complained, and my own mother felt like the people there were less than friendly once when I sent her to pick something up for my M5 a couple years ago. That said I would definitely still deal with BMW NW, I think overall they're a good place and the reality is every business drops the ball once in a while, what counts is how it's handled.
