Is that possible that some monkey mechanic forgot to tighten the carrier's bolts? At least, it looks very much like that. Are the two 12mm bolts still with the remains of the carrier and attached to the two mounting ears?

Or did you do a brake job lately and forgot to tighten the two bolts to 85ft.lb?
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

That is not a bad idea.

Where can I get em re-drilled, I've never done anything like this before.

I did the job myself, and I torqued them to spec!

Its possible I may have missed a bolt though...

I don't know...I just want to get it fixed so I can get her back on the road!

problem is that you allready have 6 holes in the MB rim - 5 for the bolts and one for the cap.

it will look like cheese with another 4 holes. :(

last resort though...can always run the caps so no1 will see the holes.

I had a carrier bolt come out after my last brake job. I had tightened it properly too. No damage, but the new one went in with threadlocker!

I don't know how possible this is but I often see situations with 2 piece wheels on monster trucks where they will remove the spider from the wheel, fabricate a new one and weld it in place.

The center section of your wheel isnt exactly a spider but maybe it can be cut out and a new plate can be welded in place. Then you can drill out new holes.

                            Golde30:

How safe do you think re-drilling a rim is?

That doesn't look like a rim you could redrill to 4x100 without welding the original holes closed. I wouldn't trust it personally.

A similar thing happened to rwdrift, but one of his carrier bolts sheared off, causing the other one to break as well. Did the same thing to his rim, punched a hole right through it.
