    Porsche engine in an e30?

Is such a thing even possible?
I've seen pleanty of other parts interchanged, (wheels, brakes, seats...)

I had a search and found nothing on it.
not that im concidering a swap (yet... lol) but i thought i would just be fucking awesome to see.

I dont know enough about front engine porsche's but hypothetically,
would such a swap be possible, has it been done?

    all swaps are possible.

the real question is, how much would it cost.

Anything is possible. I dont know why you'd want to do it though, parts would be a shite load more expensive. Wouldnt be as reliable as something like a ls1 swap, and would make less power than a ls1 swap. But then again, i'm a tad biased :)

Lsx/t56 Swap progress |----------| .0000000005% - Well below poverty line.
Getting purists panties in a knot since 2007. ;)
      E30 count = 6!

        lol sure, i know

but like i said, wouldn't it be impressive to see...

And as for people doining "pointless" swaps, remember there is that guy with the SR20DE out there. You have to admire the craftsmanship in either case.

Of course money is allways a setback.

Mad props if you mount it in the trunk where a Porsche engine belongs :)

I was thinking the same thing- If you want to really trick it out nicely, put that engine in the rear and then re-fabricate the front to be a trunk.

There was another thread on here where some guy was selling his car on Ebay and he managed to get a Chevy 350 into an E30. The guy claimed to have spent over $20,000 in modifications and was willing to let the car go for $12,000.

928 V8, that's the only one I'd consider. And only in a big body car, E28 or E24...

I was under the impression that that good porsche engines are the flat 6s and thats not going to go well under the hood. Any other porsche engine is not going to be worth your time, might as well just get an ls1 and have "porsche" lazer engraved or milled into the valve covers. Now something like a 3.6 liter v8 from a Ferarri 360 would be pretty cool, but its too much money to spend on an e30, there are better cars out there if you have that kind of money to spend....

                          Better go with a LS1.

                              Porsche engine in an e30?

I think it would be awsome to do. Imagine a M44.43 3.0 litre, 240 hp engine in an e30. First it is all Germn technology ....(no sr20 or 2jz) You would not need to convert to 6 cylinder with that much stock hp...
