The S54 is definitely my favorite swap. Its such a fantastic motor.
Haven't you ever seen Russian Nesting Dolls? They work like that.

Too wide it would hit the strut towers. If you're set on a flat engine measure up the subaru sti flat 4, prolly still too wide but I would try that before a flat 6. Plus lots of tarbo powa from it!

I was going to say how can you put a rear engine/transaxle unt in to a front engine car but then I had this front wheel drive beast...with a factory installed Maserati V6 engine that had the trans IN FRONT of the engine. Due to the slope of the hood thats the only way it would fit.

Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

There's a crazy built 951 engine on a shelf at my work, been there for years. The track car it was in had a cabin fire and was ruined. I've always dreamed of swapping that into an E30...

You could put a 944 engine and drive line in with a bit of fab work. Then you have better wait distribution as the Porsche 944 had the trans and diff in the back. There is a guy who did a twin turbo S52 swap in a 2002 with the trans and diff in the back modeled after the 944 set up. I think he only used one Porsche part though and the rest was all custom stuff fabed out of BMW parts.
