          ~21-23 mpg on a relatively stock 89 325i manual. that is with spirited driving, mixed with a lot of traffic (stop and go).

            Well I get about 20mpg average in my 325iS manual, but for some reason my friend wants the official UK BMW mileage figures.

              Your lucky to get 20mpg (uk) in a 2.5 auto. Can get nearly 10 more out of a high tuned 2.5 manual..

                  Oh your car is hot btw... are you ever near Cardiff? I wanna see it :D

                  It seems like you should be getting more than 20mpg though if driven sensibly... more like 28 I woulda thought...

                    I get 19mpg now, mostly freeway.. M20B28, 5 speed, 4.10vc. with the stock auto I got between 22-26. with a locking torque convertor and a .73 overdrive gear, don't underestimate the automatics highway economy...

                    you guys should probably list your final drive ratio, because that can make a big difference!

                        i dont know my final drive ratio, but i have an m20b25 with a 2.73 open diff. can do 40 in first gear.

                        75 mph is about 2000 in fifth.

                          Diff = Final Drive

                          And holy crap, the B25 does not lend itself to a 2.73 very well... Maybe a 3.73!! The torque monster Euro M30s were matched with 3.25s or at the highest 3.07s (at least in E28s and E24s)!

                              M20b25 turbo 13-14 mpg in town and 18 on the freeway w/ 3.73 LSD (should be going up drastically after getting tuned on Sat).. m20b27 with a 2.93 LSD is getting 24-25 combined and 30 on the freeway.
