In a sudden moment of stupidity...

Perhaps stupidity, perhaps frustration with a friend I had just gotten off the phone with, perhaps sheer lunacy... I'm not really sure what led to it, but I looked down at my speedo and it was reading 130. After further review I realized I was in a 40 zone.

Don't do this sort of shit, kiddies, it's not safe and will probably be the last time I do something that stupid for awhile.

That said, it was fun as hell and I'm always surprised at how natural my car feels at those speeds.

    Commence flaming now...

Speeding while on the phone. You already know this, but you're lucky you are not in jail.

I wasn't on the phone, I had just gotten off the phone. And yes, I'm lucky I'm not in jail or dead, what I did was completely and utterly stupid. I know this, yet I am still posting it... Go figure.

I think I'd be able to tell if I were going 90 mph over the speed limit.

At 130 I'd bet the duct tape and rivets holding my car together would start ripping and popping off.

Of course. But the weirdest part of it all is that McDonalds in Canada still has a Quarter Pounder with cheese, but the speed limits are in kmh. :p

They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with Cheese?

No, man, they got the metric system, they don't know what the fuck a Quarter Pounder is.

                    What do they call it?

They call it a Royal with Cheese.

I don't think they know what KMH is either - at least not from my experience driving up there. WOW. lol.

What do they call a Big Mac?

A Big Mac's a Big Mac, except they call it Le Big Mac.

I've seen km/h speed limits in Quebec. I think the speed limits are in km/h in the maritimes as well...

I meant more along the lines that nobody follows the speed limits. 20-30 over is not uncommon. I just go with the flow of traffic so they aren't annoyed by the "stupid american." :p

As far as I know the speed limits are in kmh all the way across Canada. I know they are in Quebec and Ontario and most of the Maritimes. I used to play in a band that was based out of Cornwall Ontario and to get to rehearsals I'd usually drive through Montreal, to this day I still only know enough french to read road signs.
