At what RPM is the torque and horsepower loss for the m20 b25? So in other words if I was going to do a 1/4mile straight run, what would be the best RPM to shift at?
M20B25 peaks HP at 168@5800, and torque at 160@4300. I'd just run the damn thing to redline and shift... do you have any engine mods?

if you drive your car, you'll be able to figure out where to shift
True dat.

when you shift you change gear and ratios, duh.
but even if you ran it past power band as soon as you shift you are going to cut the power that is getting to the rear wheels
example
first spins the rear tires 1 time for every 4 times the engine spins, multiplying torque by four
second say second spins the rear tires once for every three times the engine spins only multiplying the torque three times
that was very simplified
the answer is dont race saul, but wehn you do just leave in first and bounce the hell out of rev limit, don't ever shift
Hahaha! I know how to shift! And if i do ever "race" someone or Auto-x I allways redline it(of course for autocrossing). I was just thinking if there is any alternative than redlining every gear for fastest acceleration. And I do know what you are talkin about eta fro. Ive just been hearing alot of dispute about shifting at peak HP will give you better acceleration rather than shifting at redline, which was kind of odd. And I am doing some tuning with my M30AFM, so i just want to know some rough hp/torque loss numbers. And im not all that much of a drag 1/4 person by the way, our cars are not made for that shit.
Wait, you have an auto and you just started a thread on shift points?
