Yep, sounds like a good idea to me.. There are vert specifics when dealing with springs, body parts, interior, sounds etc....

My vote would be for a sticky. There's plenty of unique stuff to a cabrio. Rear defogger for example. Anyway, a sticky detailing the differences between the three general "misfits" as far as parts go would be nice. One for iC, one for iX, and one for the M3. (as owners of each are all too used to seeing the phrase "except iC, iX, and M3" next to the parts list)-Dave

Need some help figuring out the ETM?

I voted YES on this poll until I also realized that the Cabrio is not the only misfit in the bunch of E30's that have rolled off the line. But now I have changed my mind being that we probably don't even have enough people on this site to divide up the 325i sedan owners from the coupe and IX models and soforth. Plus I am sure that those of us who don't own a cab probably know something about it or could stand to learn a thing or two.

I'm with Josh on this one. If we add a cabby subforum, then we need one for IXs, M3s, Baur, early model, late model, etc. All of our cars have slight differences, but the majority of the car is the same and many owners of the other models still know about cabbys and all. Non-caby owners would probably rarely venture into the cabby area, but there are things that they may be able to add. It just starts to break up the forum into too many pieces, IMO.sigpic

i dont think its really necessary if you need to ask a vert specific question just put it in the titleYour signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Wow, "break up the forum" not my intention. I mean when you post something in a sub forum, say Exhaust, we all read it that day, comment on it add our 2 cents, learn from it, then some one searches on Exhaust and the thread gets reborn it becomes a part ot the New Posts, we read it again some more people will add to it, some of us will learn from it etc. But at the end of the day it sleeps in the Exhaust Forum for all who are looking for Exhaust information to find... see what I mean???sigpic

Cabrio
I think there are so many stuff on the cabrio that doesnt apply on the other e30s. It would be nice to have a specific section dedicated, to name a few of the things I ran into
- interior dome light part number
- side skirts
- cabrio conversion to plastic bumper
- sway bars
- convertible top leaking problem
- convertible top storage drainage clogging issue
- convertible top adjustment and window adjustment
- rear seat and quarter panel removal
- battery tray
- rear trunk dead weight
- third brake light access and removal etc
- trunk has gas struts
- convertible top gas struts
- top adjustment and spacing
the list goes on and on, its basics if you work on your car and have prior experience, and probably can apply from coupe and sedan forum, but if you dont know anything, its a world of difference. I could do without, but if I dont konw much at all, I really would like to see a subsection.

I think we should do it. As a new vert owner I could use some help fitting the top and getting the motor to work. It only needs to be a sub-section, not a full topic lounge. Since most of the questions involve body/interior/top, why not put it in the Appearance & Cosmetic lounge? Can anyone think of a reason NOT to, a really decent reason?
